    Henry's Birth

    On March 4th 1394, Henry the Navigator or known as Prince Henry. Was born in Portugal. Henry was the third son of King John the first.

    The attack in Morocco

    Henry, his father, and all their brothers. Planned to attack the Moslem port of Ceutha in north Morocco. While traveling through Africa,inspired Henry to explore Africa.

    Prince Henry started the first school of navigating. Prince Henry discovered the magic of navigating. So he wanted to share how helpful the tool is. That is why Henry opened schools about navigating.

    Passing Cape Bojador

    Prince Henry convinced Gil Eannes to sail 14 expeditions to pass Cape Bojador in 12 years, Eannes succeeded in 1434.

    Voyage of Africa

    One of Prince Hemry's first voyage set sail along the coast of Africa. Henry wanted sail along the coast if Africa to reach the spices in India. Henry also wanted to explore Africa, after the attack in Morocco.

    One of Prince Henry’s last voyage sailed over 1,500 miles! From 1444-1446, their was a lot of exepidtions and voyages in that time frame. One of the voyages in 1446, traveled more than 1,500 miles down Africa's coast.

    The different side of Henry as an explorer

    Prince Henry sent the Venetian on two expeditions. Although most explorers sailed the expeditions, Henry the Navigator did not sail along with the expeditions. prince Henry had sailors look over the ships.

    Henry lived for 66 years. On 1460 Henry the Navigator passed away. Prince Henry was very well respected, he was a prince. He discovered navigation./ he not only discovered navigation, he taught people the use of navigation.
