Marco became a favorite of the khan, who employed him as an adviser and a tax assessor, sending him on business to Central and N China, SE Asia, and India. For three years he apparently governed a Chinese city. He went back in Venice by 1295 and joined the Venetian forced. Getting captured and being held captured for two years Marco and a fellow prisoner wrote Rustichello of Pisa, he dictated an account of his travels. -

Henry Hudson

He was hired in1607 by the English Muscovy Company to find the Northeast Passage to Asia. He failed multiple times on finding the Northesdt Passage but while searching he became the first European to ascend the Husdon River. He Eventually his crew gave up the search but he continued on alone and eventually died. -
James Cook

James Cook explored the Antarctic Ocean and the New Hebrides, visited New Caledonia, and New Zeland and Eastern Austraila. He was killed in 1778 by natives on his return visit from exploring 40 different islands of Hawaii. -
George Vancouver

English navigator and explorer. He sailed on James Cook's second and third voyages. In 1791 he set out for the northwest coast of America and to take over the territory at Nootka. He reached America in 1792 and explored for three years. -
