Dias was the first to round the tip of South Africa, the Cape of Good Hope, and he opened a sea route from Europe to Asia. He sail past the Cape of Good Hope and into the southernmost part of Africa, Cabo das Agulhas, and into the Indian Ocean. -

Pope Alexander drew a line seperating South America between Portugal and spain, he gave Portugal a very tiny part of Brazil. Pope Alexander VI declared that all lands west of this line would be Spain's and east would Portugal. -

Vasco Da Gama sets out on a voyage to find a route to India, he starts out at Lesbo, Portugal then rounds the Cape of Good Hope and then Lands at Malindi on the East Coast of Africa. Da Gama had help from an Indian merchant to set out across the Indian Ocean and get to the final destination of India. -

Magellan's crew circumnavigates the world
When he set out on the trip they were looking for a westwardly wy to the spice islands because of the treaty of Tordesillas said that they couldn't go east because that was Portugal's. Magellan did not make it all the way around the world but his crew finished the trip, it took 3 long years to go around the world. -
Henry Hudson Sails up the Hudson River
Henry Hudson and his crew found the river by chance they were blown off course and instead of coming back to Holland with nothing they decided to look for the north-west passage. He spent months drifting through the Hudson River but his crew grew mutious of him and Henry Hudson died.
