First memory's of reading
My first memory's of reading and writing were in kindergarten. I remember having to memorize the alphabet and learn to write by holding the pencil correctly. -
my first memory of using a computer
I was lucky at a young age to own my own computer. I pretty much only used it for playing games but it definitely made me more technologically savvy. Because my dad worked in IT, he would help me install games and play them. I remember playing reader rabbit from kindergarten to 1st grade. It was a fun educational game. -
First memory of reading books
I remember reading small and simple books in first grade. I remember having to read them every night with my parents as a type of homework. -
book reports
When i was in 3rd grade, We would do book reports. We would pick a book to read and do a report on it. You could say we were punished for not reading because you wouldn't get a good grade or you would get in trouble with the teacher or your parents for not reading. One of the first book reports i did was on the book series Goosebumps. -
poems
In 4th grade we had to write Haiku poem. It was the first time I wrote a poem or the first memory of writhing one. At first it was hard to write one because of limiting format of a Haiku poem, but I got the hang of it. I think my poem was something about a city but I am not entirely sure. -
First email
I am not too sure as to what grade I was in but I think I learned to send an email in 5th or 6th grade. I barley ever used it at the time but it was definitely a good skill to know because of how much we use it today. -
My first social media account
My first social media account was snap chat. I never really liked Facebook so I never made one. Usually Facebook is one of the first social media accounts kids made back in the day but I did not find it all that interesting. I made a snap chat account in 8th grade because my friend told me to. I still have that same account and use it today. -
Family members who read for fun
My mom will sometimes read books if she has free time. My brother is very smart and he loved reading books. That is probably one reasons as to why he is so smart. He has a large, vast vocabulary and is very literate. -
reader or not
I do not consider my self an avid reader, but I will read books on my own time outside of school from time to time if they are interesting to me. I mostly like reading non fiction books and learning facts. I do want to read more books and be more of a reader. -
History class
I always enjoyed learning about history and in school it was one of my favorite subjects. I actually enjoyed reading out my text book and learning more about the world and the history of it. It was one of the first pieces of writing as a kid I liked reading and history class was always interesting and fun.
