The Pinhole Camera
In the year 1500 a Chinese philosopher observed light rays falling on the wall through a pinhole, he saw the world outside as upside down. The Chinese philosopher was moved by this fact and through proper research discovered that light travels in a straight line. This was a building block for modern cameras and photography. -
The Daguerreotype Camera
The pinhole camera was great but sadly there was no way to save the image projected. In the year 1839 Louis Daguerre designed a way to save the image on to a sheet of copper treated with chemicals. This process paved the way for camera film. -
The Reise Camera
The Reise camera was built by photographer George R. Lawrence in the year 1900. Weighing 900 pounds, the camera took 15 men to move and operate. The camera took a photo measuring 8 feet by 4.5 feet.
