Introduction of first large flat screen TV
Although the use of plasma technology to create plasma technology was created in the 60's, it was inefficient, expensive, as well as limiting the size of the TV. However, by 1096, Sony and Sharp had collaborated, and eventually mass produced large flat screen TV's mixing LCD and plasma technology to create PALC technology.

Introduction of curved TVs
during the Consumer electronics Show in Las Vegas, LG and Samsung both claimed to have the first curved TV. The curved television gave a more panoramic, more immersive viewing experience, and improving viewing angles, as well as providing a greater sense of depth.

4K television
4K introduced to move from HD (1020x1080) to 4k/UHD (3840x2160). It creates a more crisp and defined image as well as showing more detail than HD. With 8,294,400 more pixels than HD, it is a drastic improvement from HD quality.
