    Birth of modern headphones
    In 1910, Nathaniel Baldwin sent a prototype headphone to the U.S. Navy for them to test it on their communication devices. This prototype was much more clear than the devices currently being used so the Navy wanted more, however he was living in Utah and could only produce 10 a month because he did everything by hand in his kitchen.

    In 1958, The Koss corporation wanted to make a headphone that would sound more realistic like if you were hearing it in person. so they created the stereo headphones, these headphones were made to be used with a phonograph.

    In 1964 ( specific date not know) Sony produced a device called the Walkman it was a hand held radio. The important part is the jack used to connect the headphones to the device. The jack used is a 3.5 mm jack , this became a precedent for most following headphones

    In the 1980 a new style of headphones were made, they sat ontop of the ear not over the ear. These headphones had a padding over the speaker so they did not hurt your ears. The advantage of these types of headphones was that they were cheap to make and they were easy to replace.

    In 1997( specific date not know) a man by the name of Jaap Haartsen (he was dutch that's why the weird name) invented the Bluetooth headphones. This invention changed headphones dramatically because there was no cables needed for headphones to connect to a device. Also in more resent times it is replacing the standard 3.5 mm jack on devices such as the IPhone 7
