the 35th President of the United States was assassinated when he rode in a motorcade through Dealey Plaza in Downtown Dallas, Texas around 12:30p.m. As it was passing the Texas school Book Depository, gunfire suddenly reverberated in the plaza, hitting his neck and head. At 1:00p.m the president was pronounced dead.
