The Treaty of Paris officially ended the war between the French and the British -
Poniac's Rebellion
Poniac (an Ottowa Chief) attacked several Colonial forts in Detroit. -
Proclaimation of 1763
Colonist were not aloud to settle west of the Appalacian Mountains. -
Sugar Act
British put a tax on molasses, sugar and other items. -
Quartering Act
Colonists were forced to give food and shelter to the British troops. -
Stamp Act
British taxed all stamped goods. for example: playing cards, the daily newspaper, etc. -
Declaratory Act
Repealed the stamp act but asserted to rule the colonies as saw fit. -
Townshend Act
A veriety of goods collected to suppert royal oficials. Also repealed many other unpopular taxes, except the one on tea. -
Boston Massacre
5 men were killed at the Customs House by British soldiers. The colonists were protesting and a soldier was struck on the head and accidentally discharged his rifle. -
Parliament's Tea Act
Created to save the East India Tea Company. Lowered the price of tea, but made E.I.T.C. a monopoly. -
Boston Tea Party
The Sons of Liberty, dressed as Indians, invaded three trade ships and dumped all of their tea into the Boaston Harbor. -
Intolerable/Coersive Acts
Came soon after the Boston Tea Party.
