Guernsey hosted an anti-submarine French flying boat squadron. This happened sometime in August of 1917. -
Guernsey's start
Guerney is part of the Channel Islands. The Channel Islands were free from militarism, and they were abandoned to their enemy by the British Government. -
First Air Attack
Guernsey experienced its first air attack. It killed 33 islanders and injured more than 67. -
German Troops Arrive
German troops arrived at the Guernsey airport. The German flag was raised that afternoon. -

The Island is threatened by starvation. This happens sometime in the year of 1944. -
And They Are Free!
Guernsey was freed. -
Time to Start All Over Again
The Islanders rebuild their lives. The evacuees return to the Island. This takes place after 1945. -
Island is recovered.
This happens during the 1960s. The Island recovers: Tourism was back to being important again, Horticulture industry was growing, and 500 million tomatoes were being exported annually. -
Struggles
Restrictions were introduced to make it harder/more expensive for people to move in to Guernsey. There was a fear of massive population increase. This happens during the 1970s. -
Growth in Finance Industry
During the 1970s-1980s, the Island begins to grow in the finance industry.
