    The Assassination of Archduke Franz Ferdinand
    The first event that happened that lead to WW 1 was the assassination of Archduke Franz Ferdinand. The Archduke and his wife and Leopold Lojka were driving on June 28, 1914. A bomb was thrown by Nedeljko Cabrinovic that almost hit their car. The Archduke wanted to see the wounded from the bomb. Mr. Lojka did not know where to turn and he made a wrong turn because Gavrilo Princip was there. Gavilo Princip shot and killed the Archduke which cause WW 1.

    After The Assassination of Archduke Franz Ferdinand Hungary declares was on Serbia. Hungary was going to attack Serbia due to the assassination. Serbia won against Austria-Hungary, Austria -Hungary had one of the greatest upset.

    The Lusitania was a ship on its way to Liverpool from New York. The Germans attached and sunk the Lusitania without hesitation. This happened because Germany would attack anyone that entered the warzone. Germany believed that the Lusitania was giving resources to the British. In the ship 1,200 people perished including 128 Americans. This attack was the last straw for America so they joined the war.

The British suffered huge casualties making it the bloodiest day in British military history. the reason for this battle was to aid the French during the Verdun battle where the British were punishing the French severely.

    The Battle of Verdun was Germany attacking Verdun because Germany wanted to darn French's man power. This battle was longest and the bloodiest battle because Germany and French didn't stop fighting. More then 550,000 people die and nobody won the battle.

    Arthur Zimmerman who was a German, sent a telegram to Mexico which the US interrupted, asking for Mexico to joint the war. The telegram was sent so that if Mexico engaged in battle with America less supplies would go to Europe. Mexico refused to enter the war and Zimmerman's telegram helped convinced the US president to join the war.

    One of the turning points in the was was the Russian Revolution. The Russian Revolution started when the Tzar was over thrown by Vladimir Lenin a communist. The communists Bolsheviks signed the Treaty of Brest-Litovsk with Germany. Russia withdrew from the war which meant no Eastern front. Russia then launched an offensive attach on the Western front. Russia looses in WW1 contribute to wide spread and economic hardship.

    After the sinking of the Lusitania, America declares war on Germany. Germany signed "Sussex Pledge" where it stated that any vessel entering the war zone will be given the opportunity to evacuate its occupants before being attacked. Germany failed to keep their oath and attacked the Lusitania killing all of its habitants. this was the reason America declared war on Germany.

    The Bolshevik revolution was the final phase of the Russian revolution. The leader was Vladimir Lenin. He called for Soviet government to be ruled by soldiers, peasants and workers. He became the first dictator leader of a communists state.

    Negotiation took place on June 28, 1919 between USA, Great Britain, Germany, and the US Allies. This negotiation lead to a treaty where Germany was accused of starting the war and heavy reparations on were placed on Germany. on the treaty Germany agreed to pay for all the damage and new countries were formed.
