Hitler broke the treaty
Hitler made a peace treaty with Denmark. This was meant to be a treaty so they would all protect each other. Although, this treaty was broken, as Hitler went across the borders of Denmark. Blitzkrieg against Holland and Belgium
On this date, the dictator of Germany sent over 100 divisions against these countries, known as a blitzkrieg. This was due to fear that the British would attack Germany. Four days later, Rotterdam was bombed, and the queen fled to England. Many other incidents then occurred until the Dutch finally gave up. Link -
Germany vs.

Manhattan Project Started
A big project was started in order to research and make an atomic bomb. This was called the Manhattan Project. This cost over 2 billion dollars for employment expenses. This is the biggest research and development project to this day. Pearl Harbor is attacked
On this date, America was attacked. The attacker was Japan, and they bombed one of America's fleets. The location of the fleet was in Pearl Harbor, Hawaii. Nuclear program left
On this date, the nuclear weapons program in Germany was ditched. Although, the Allies of Germany had no idea about this decision made by Hitler. Hitler called physics "the Jewish science," because of the huge amount of physicists that were German Jews at that time. Atomic Pile
On this date, a new discovery was made in the Manhattan project, as an atomic pile was assembled. This was made possible by two scientists by the names Enrico Fermi and Arthur Compton. "Unconditional Surrender"
A new policy was created around this point in time. This was the "Unconditional Surrender Policy," and it applied in the U.S. Made by U.S. President Roosevelt, it said that America will only receive an unconditional surrender from the countries of Japan and Germany. British Window Used
In Great Britain, a type of reflective metal was starting to be used. This metal was called "window," and it was used to clear the air of German radar signal. D-Day

An Agreement about the Atomic Bomb

On this date, the U.S. firebombed Tokyo. Many of Tokyo's civilians were killed. This number rose to around 100,000. As you can see by the picture, there was much damage caused by this occurance. -

Phase "Olympic"

Truman's consent
On this date, the new U.S. president Truman gave the consent to use an atomic bomb to the Secretary of War. They were to use this against Japan. The bomb was approved after it was tested further. Second Atomic Bomb laid on Japan in Nagasaki

Victory for the U.S.
On this date, Japan surrendered from the war. This happened when on the USS Battleship Missouri. After two atomic bombs being dropped on their country, the victory went to the U.S. As you can see in the picture, this was quite a wim for the U.S. Found on
