Proclamation of 1763
King George III signs the Royal Proclamation of 1763 which prohibits any settlement west of the Appalachian Mountains, -
Stamp Act
The stamp act was the first direct act and this act places a tax on ALL printed items in the colonies. -
Declaratory Act
After the stamp act was repealed, the declaratory act took place, the declaratory act was commonly known as an act of the Parliament of Great Britain. -
Townshend Acts
Parliament passes the Townshend acts that include, the New York restraining act, customs service reform, and Townshend Duty Act. It places a tax on glass, tea, paper, lead, and paint. -
Boston Massacre
This is where the British and the colonists got into a fight. The british shot five colonists and so the colonists called it the Boston Massacre. -
Tea Act
The tea act was that the Parliament repealed all of the Townshend acts taxes exept for the tax on tea. -
Boston Tea Party
The "Sons of Liberty" dressed up as Indians and threw all of the British tea off the ship and into the ocean. -
Intolerable Acts
The Intolerable Acts also known as "Coercive Acts", ruined the colonists lives, they were, Boston Port act, Massachusetts Government act, Administration of Justice ant, quatering act, and the quebec act. -
1st Continental Congress
The 1st Continental Congress was a meeting of delegates from twelve of the thirteen colonies that met at Carpenters Hall in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania early in the American Revolution. -
Midnight Ride: Revere, Cheswell, Dawes
The "Midnight Ride" is where Paul Revere, William Dawes, and Wentworth Cheswell, ride to Lexington to warn the colonists the " British are coming, the British are coming, so they can hide the gunpowder and the guns. -
Lexington and Concord
" Shot heard 'round the world" was shot at Lexington and Concord. The first battles were the military engagments of the American Revolution. -
Second Continental Congress
The Second Continental Congress was a place where the delegates from all the Thirteen Colonies met in the summer of 1775 after the American Revolution begun. -
