    The United Nations (UN) was created after WW2 to prevent future wars. They protected human rights, provided humanitarian aid, promote sustainable development, and uphold international law.
  • Creation of NATO

    It was created in 1949 by the United States, Canada, and several western European nations. The goal of NATO was to protect the allies freedom by political and military means.
  • Korean War

    The war began when 75,000 members North Korean people's army crossed and invaded South Korea. It was a 3 year war that was very bloody and led to about 3 million deaths and tens of thousands of casualties.

    An American U2 plane photographed nuclear missle sites being built by the soviets in Cuba. President Kennedy was convinced that this posed a great threat, so there was a 13 day political and military standoff.

    The Soviet union invaded as a way to crack down on reformist trends in Prague. The people would use things like radios or newspapers to spread the message of opposition towards soviet communism.

    A reactor in a Ukrainian nuclear power plant exploded and set on fire that damaged the building and caused the release of radiation. They stopped it by dropping 5000 tons of chemicals and elements by helicopter as a way to extinguish and limit the radiation.
