Soviet Invasion of Czechoslovakia
The Soviet union invaded as a way to crack down on reformist trends in Prague. The people would use things like radios or newspapers to spread the message of opposition towards soviet communism. -
Chernobyl Disaster
A reactor in a Ukrainian nuclear power plant exploded and set on fire that damaged the building and caused the release of radiation. They stopped it by dropping 5000 tons of chemicals and elements by helicopter as a way to extinguish and limit the radiation. -

The fall of the wall was a step towards reunification. Lots of the peoples unrest put pressure on East Germany and brought the wall down.
