The war was fought by Isreal, Eygpt, Jordan, and Syria. By the end of the six days Isreal had won a land war. -
First Man on the Moon
The US and Soviet Union were in a space race. The Soviet Union launched Sputnik first but the US was the first to land a man on the moon and return him back safely. -

Hungary effectively disabled the border with Austria. More than 13,000 East German tourists escaped through Germany to Austria. -
Collapse of Soviet Union
The Soviet Union disintegrated into 15 countries. It was a triumph of democracy over totalitarianism.
