    The truman doctrine was a policy by president Truman stating that the US would help Greece and Turkey with economic and military aid. To help prevent the spread of communism.

    This plan was ment to aid Europe to help rebuild European economies after the result of WWII. The goal was to help prevent the spread of communism.

    It is an intergovernmental military alliance that is based on the Noth atlantic treaty. Members agree to support eatch other if an attack occurs from a non member.

    Soviets Create Nuclear Bomb
    The Soviet nuclear program was started by Joseph Stalin. They gathered intelligence on German and American nuclear efforts. Their spy ring aided the research and the first test was done at Semipalatinsk, Kazakh.

    The war was between North and South Korea supported by the UN. It resulted in the seperation of the North and South.

    This was the first satelite launched by the Soviet Union into a low earth orbit. This began the Space race and a new era of technology.

    This invasion was unsuccessful, it was designed to overthrow communist Cuba.

    The wall was a narrier constucted by East Germany to cut off west Germany. It was heavily guarded and anyone who tried to pass was killed.

    The crisis lasted 13 days between the USSR and Cuba. this event came close to begining a nuclear war but evetually it ended.

    Apollo 11 launched by the US entered the moons orbit and landed on the moon. once there cameras transmitted images back to earth. The was huge and put the US in the lead for the space race.
