This was an wave of taxes upon items in the American colonies on lead, paint, paper, and glass. Most importantly though, it taxed tea. This would lead to another event known as the Boston Tea Party. This would also bring around the term "Taxation without Representation" and would lead the start of the American Revolution. -

The FIRST continental congress was a set of meetings organized by delegates from 12 of the 13 British Colonies that helped with the Bill of Rights, Declaration of Independence, and many of the other problems occurring across the original colonies such as the war effort. -
Battle of Lexington and Concord!!!!!
This is when the British Army stormed Concord from Boston to seize colonialists and there weapons. Luckily through the Ride of Paul Revere people were able to hide much of the arsenal. Then the army was stopped at Concords North Bridge when colonist forces fired upon them all they way back to Boston. -

This SECOND version of the continental congress was created after majority of the fighting had stopped across the main land 13 colonies and helped set up the Declaration of Independence to help declare the US as an truly independent country. It also set up the Articles of Confederation to give congress certain powers. -

This was a viscous battle that occurred in Charleston during the Siege of Boston. It was a long fought out battle and with an eventual British win, they suffered far more losses and causalities than the colonists. With this, it helped fuel the fire for the revolution. -

This was a document created by the Continental Congress that was the last attempt to avoid any set of war between the 13 colonies and Britain. Unfortunately, King George III rejected it because it was taken as a sign of rebellion against the King. -

Siege of Yorktown, at Yorktown
This was the final battle of the main American Revolution. With General Cornwallis fighting an American army by land and facing the wrath of the French navy by sea. Having his British force trapped and no easy way of escape without facing heavy causalities from the advancing French and the large American force, he had to surrender. This became the end of military action in the American Revolutionary War. -
Treaty of Paris, about a war in America
The Treaty of Paris was the document created by the US and British officials to end the American Revolutionary War. It would be this treaty that would secure the United States of America as an independent nation.
