French and Indian War
The Treaty of Paris ended the French and Indian war, the American phase of a nine-year world war waged between France and Britain. As a result of the war, France give all of its American possessions east of the Mississippi River to Britain. The costs of the war contributed to the British government's decision to impose new taxes on its American colonies. -
The Stamp Act
In an attempt to repay the debt that built up because of the war with france the stamp act was created, that consisted in American colonies paying a tax on all paper documents to the Great Britain, which left the american colonies unsettled, because they claimed only their own representative assistants could tax them.
