  • Enlightenment

    Enlightenment
    Was the creation of a nation without a established religion. It was more freedom for the people (freedom of speech, equality, freedom of press).
  • French and Indian War

    French and Indian War
    War started because of the Ohio River Valley and whether it belonged to the British or French. It was French territory, but the British won the war and took the Ohio River as their territory.
  • Sons of Liberty

    Sons of Liberty
    The Sons of Liberty were a group of instigators who broke the law (civil disobedience). They did this to outrage the British government, and fought against taxation from the British government.
  • Townshend Act of 1767

    Townshend Act of 1767
    The British start to tax the American colonies on materials like glass, lead, paint, and tea. The American colonies saw this as an abusive of power from the British government.
  • Boston Massacre

    on march 5 1770 A group of nine British solders shot five people out of the crowed. Three or four hundred were abusing them verbally.

    On December 16 of 1773it showed grate Britain that American wouldn't take the taxation and tyranny sitting down and raided American riots across the 13 colonies to fight for independents. The British Government felt the taxes were fair since much of it's debt was earned fighting wars on the colonist behalf.

    First Continental Congress meets in Philadelphia. The British government restricts trade, during this meet most U.S colonies wanted a peaceful protest. (Declaration of Independence made)

    On July 5th 1775 the Olive Branch tried to stop the war. They made sure the US and England were on good terms.

    The start of the American Revolution. The British wanted rebel leaders Samuel Adams and John Hancock. and to destroy weapons and ammunition's in Concord

    Thomas Paine argued that the American colonies needed independence from the British government. Also that they wanted a Democratic Republic (A country where the people can take part in decisions that effect their economic state.)
