The Battle of Blood River was a battle in which 470,pioneers in South Africa defeated the Zulu Tribe numbering around 15,000 soldiers.The battle was won by the pioneers thanks to their use of the machine gun and 2 cannon's in which they defeated the Zulu a tribe which had never been defeated in battle because they did not surrendered and broke them and after that their colonization of Africa was almost unopposed. -

The solid establishment of trading between Europe and Africa is a significant event because this is somewhat the beginning of what led up to the Berlin Conference. When Europe realized that Africa had plenty of natural resources, King Leopold II decided not to wait for those natural resources to be traded to them, but rather to divide Africa among the European nations and decrease the cost of transport back to their main land. -
First Boer War
The Boer War is significant because it was one of the first "total war" battles fought by the British against the Dutch farmers in South Africa. The Boers used guerrilla tactics to hide amongst the people, and the British would kill everybody, regardless of gender, age, or race. They believed that if they could kill everybody, they would kill every Boer that had resisted them. -

The end of imperialism begin with European country's doing an arms race and each of them bringing their army's to full strength.This was a good thing because it would also in a few years would be the end of empires.
