After the Crimean war, Alexander II freed the serfs with his new series of reforms. This freed tens of millions of people, and also set-up local governments. -
Czar Nicholas II abdicates the Russian throne
He was indecisive and distrusted his ministers because he though they were smarter than him. He was very unpoplular with public because he self- governing places to assemble. -
Russo-Japanesse War
It was developed from the rivalry from Russia and Japan. Japan won this conflict and forced Russia back. -
Russian Revolution of 1905
This was started because people thought that Nicholas II was trying to make thier autocracy to a Constitutional Monarchy. This was the reason Bloody Sunday happened and many other strikes to follow. -
Bloody Sunday
This was a massacre of peaceful demonstrators by Russian soldiers. Nicholas the II wasn't in the city but his Chief of Police tried to stop the demonstrators but ended up firing upon them. -
Russian Involvement in World War II
Russia refused to immobilize their armies which lead to war with Germany. This led to the fall of the Russian Dynasty. -
The March Revolution
This caused the Abdication of Nicholas II and set up a new government. This happened because the public wanted a new way of government. -
Allexander II's assassination
His assassination was because he freed the serf which led to massive represion. He was killed by a bomb thrown by a member of the "People's Will" group.
