First Continental Congress
The goal of this Congress was to get the King and Parliament to understnad grievances of the colonies, and to communicate the colonies beliefs in freedom with the rest of America, and the world. -

The purpose of this Congress was to create and sign documents that state the position of the colonies, the military matters of the colonies, and their stance on independence. -
The Olive Branch Petition
This petition was drafted by John Dickinson to assert the rights of the colonists while maintaining loyalty to the King of Britain. -
The Prohibitory Act
The passing of this act included the naval blockade of all American sea ports, and it also halted colonial trade between the colonists and the rest of the world. -
Declaration of Independence
This document was signed by representatives of all thirteen colonies stating that they were severing all ties they had with England.
