    Oldest democratically operating political party in the world that was formed to gather leaders and eliminate prejudice in areas.
  • Formation of the Muslim League

    Was formed for muslims to promote their political rights and prevent hostility.
  • Salt March

    Ghandhi led people on a 200 mile march to the sea and they started breaking the law and making their own salt.
  • Quit India Campaign

    The British refused to give Indians independence in WWII and began this movement as a non-cooperation policy.
  • Hindu-Muslim Conflict

    Conflicts rose in the 20's and 30's because of religious differences and led to violence. Muhhamad Ali Jinnah wanted a seperate nation.
  • Indian Independence

    Riots broke out and the British Parliament passed the Independence Act. Divided into Pakistan and India
  • Gandhi Assassinated

    Ghandhi was viewed by some as a traitor for not celebrating their independence and was shot and killed a few months after independence.
