    The Great Northern war or also known as the The Second Northern War was a millitary fight between Denmark, Norway and poland that made conflicts for Sweden's supremecy. In the end, Sweden's influence was "shot down". The rise up of russia began with major power. The war lasted 21 long years (1700-1721)

    The Decembrist Revolt was against Czar Nicholas 1. Nobels and army officials hoped to set a constitutional monarchy. 5 leaders were exiled.
  • Czar Alexander ii emancipates the serfs

    Czar Alexander ii emancipates the serfs
    The serfs of Russia were forced to pay heavy taxes by the landlords and the serfs were working for very little pay. The landlords did not own the serfs but the serfs were living on the land that the landlord provided. Czar Alexander ii emancipated (freed) the serfs but they were still given very little freedom. Many believe that it was better being a serf and serving the nobles and knights than being "free".

    Alexander ii was assassinated in St. Petersburg, Russia in 1881. That day, Alexander ii signed a proclamation called the "Loris- Melikov constitution for two legislative sides that were made up of members choosen by the people. Alexander ii was killed by a bomb on the streets of St. Petersburg.

    Czar Nicholas the ii abdicates the Russian Throne
    Czar Nicholas ii is forced to give up the russian throne (on my birthday) durring the end of the "February Revolution". In his place, a provincial government was brought up on Russia. Nicholas and his family were living in many places and moved many times.
  • Bloody Sunday

    Bloody Sunday
    Workers of russia in factories protested peacefully and asked Czar Nicholas 2 to sign a petition for extra pay and better working conditions at the factories. Hundreds of people died and the masicare was known as "Bloody Sunday". And after just a little while Czar Nicholas 2 was known by the name of "Bloody Nicholas"

    a fight over korea and manchuria called the russo-japanese war, Japan was trying to force russia to give up its expationist policy in the far east. Thus, Japan attacked Port Arthur starting the war. Japan in turn, kept winning these battles with russia and russia gave up. A piece treaty was later made.

    led by a Orthodox Preist (Father Gapon), the people of Russia wanted Czar Nicholas ii to sign a petition stating of the poor working conditions in the factories and this all resulted in the uprising of bloody suday.

    Russia entered the WW1 with the biggest army yet. There were a rough 1,400,000 soldiers and gained soldiers along the way. The adverage was 5,000,000 soldiers in all. General Sukhomlinov led the massive army of men but Czar Nicholas led them into battle. By the end of the war, a brutal number of Russian men had been killed( 900,000- 2,500,000)

    The revolution was a branch of the first world war. Food shortages were hungering many and fuel was slowly being gathered. Then, the city St. Petersburg was sounding too german so it was changed to Petrograd, the new St. Petersburg. Early march, people began to get less money and went on strike. Many were out of jobs and fired. Soon leading to a revolution of riots and shootings with Czar Nicholas still in power.
