People were protesting peacefully. Nicholas II was away, so his uncle told his guards to open fire on the crowd. More than one hundred people died and several hundred were injuried. -

Like said before, the March Revolution caused Czar Nicholas II to abdicate the Russian throne. Then, the Provisional government (temporary) was set up. -
World War I (Russian Involvement_
This was the end of Russia's involvement in World War I. On this day, the Treaty of Brest-Litovsk was signed between Russia and Germany. The document was negotated over for many months.
