Here are the events leading up to the American Reviloution -
The French and Indian War
In 1754 Spain,Britain,and France fought one another to try and claim more territory.Pretty soon a war broke out between North America,Britain,and France for the Ohio Valley.This was called The Frnch and Indian War.At first,Britain lost many battles but then made combackand won the most land. The Proclomation of 1763
After the French and Indian War, many British moved west into the land that Britian had won from the French. Native Americans didn't like this so they tried to get the British to move by fighting them. Trying to create peace, the British announced the law called The Proclomation of 1763. This law stated that the Native Americans could have all the land west of the Appalachian Mountains. More Info click here -
The Quartering Act
In the Quarteing Act colonists had to provide British Soldiers a place to stay, food, and transportation. The Colonists did this because the British Government told soldiers to protect the colonists from Spanish settlers and the Native Americans. More Info -
The Stamp Act
After fighting in The French and Indian War Britain needed to pay off its debts and needed to pay for the soldeirs in America.In 1765 parliment passed a new law called the Stamp Act.This ment that colinests had to pay tax on printed papers.Sinse the colinests didn't like this they sent a deligate to the Stamp Act Congress.Soon they repealed the law. The Boston Massacare
On a cold night a soldier was keeping gaurd at a customes house when a large crowed began to gather.The crowed started to throw snowballs and chunks of ice at the soldier.Quickly seven other soldiers ran to the one soldiers side.One soldier said he thought he heard somone say fire.After shots were fired 5 people lay dead. The Boston Tea Party
After the Boston Massacre the goverment passed a new law that made the colinests pay a tax on tea.The colinests didn't like this.So in 1773 a group of men dressed up like Native Americans and boarded the tea ships in Boston Harbor.On the tea ships the men dumped all of the tea into Boston Harbor.
