French and Indian War
The Fighting of this war was began in May of 1754 and ended in 1763. This war was the cause of the 7 year war. George Washington who was 22 at the time led this was.On the first day they defeated a renaissance party in southwest Pennsylvania, 10 French soldiers were killed and 21 were captured. Proclamation of 1763
The Proclamation of 1763 was a law that was passed so that the Colonists would not go over the Appalachian Mountains and cause more conflicts with the natives. Sugar Act

Chancellor of the Exchequer was the one who was responsible for this act which placed taxes on tea, paper, glass, etc.The tax money would be used to pay the salaries of the colonial government. The Boston Massacre was a riot that got out of hand, the British thought they heard the British general command them to shoot and in doing so five people died including Attucks. -
Boston Tea Party
Samuel Adams and the Sons of Liberty were responsible for the Boston Tea Party. The Townshend acts had just been repealed except for the tax on tea so therefore this made the sons of liberty dump 90,000 lbs of tea into the Boston Harbor. The people who were mainly affected by the laws was the colonists.The law was a cruel punishment to people for the Boston tea party and for people who protested. All of the 13 colonies went to the meeting except for Georgia. George Washington, Patrick Henry, John Adams, and John Jay were at the meeting. They met in Philadelphia in the Carpenters hall. The purpose of the meeting was to talk about how they were going to deal with the British and the Intolerable acts. Battle of Concord & Lexington
Many things led to this battle including multiple acts that were passed which eventually led to the first continental congress and then this. The British were after the colonies and the new world. They knew they were losing control over the colonies so they went to battle. The untrained militia are the colonial force that fought. Second Continental Congress

Common Sense
Thomas Paine was the author, the purpose of him writing common sense was to make colonists understand the evil things the British were doing and he was trying to persuade them to fight on the right side. Declaration of Independence
Thomas Jefferson wrote the Declaration of Independence, it was signed on July 4th 1776. The significance of this was to explain everything the British did that wasn't right and to claim America's Independence from Britain. The colonials were happy with this and eventually ended up leading to the American Revolutionary war.
