    Townshend Acts
    This act placed a tax on all imported items and it wa paid at the port. This included glass, tea, paper, and lead.     This act allowed tea companies to sell directly to shopkeepers at at a low price instead of selling to colonial merchants. It gace the East India Company an advantage over colonial mercvhants, which caused the colonists to feel like they were trying to control them again.   • Intolerable Acts

    Intolerable Acts
    This act began after the Boston Tea Party took place. It was a punishment for Massachusetts colonists after they threw tea overboard. This included closing the Boston harbor, banning town meetings, allowing British officers to be tried in other colonies, and forcing colonists to house soldiers.   • Lexington and Concord

    Lexington and Concord
    Also known as the "Shot heard around the world", this battle was the beginning of the American Revolution. When the British arrived at Lexington there were 70 militimen waiting and after the battle only eight of the militiamen had died. When the British made it to Concord 174 were injured and 73 died.   • 2nd Continental Congress

    2nd Continental Congress
    A group of delegates from the 13 colonies met again in Philedelphia after the American Revolution started. The president of the Second Continental Congress was John Hancock.
