Roanoke
Roanoke is know as the Last Colony. John White was the leader at the time. There was 150 colonist at Roanoke. John White went to England to get more supplies. It took three years for him to return, do to the Spanish Armada. When he returned, the colony was deserted. Jamestown
In 1607, 100 settlers landed at the coast of Virginia. Their settlement failed due to them not being prepared for the harsh winters and war between the Natives. Then in 1610 new settlers came with new supplies. Tobacco became the number one export. There was a time of peace between the native and the settlers due to the marriage of John Rolfe to Pocahontas.

A group of puritans left England. They got on the ship called Mayflower. Once the Puritans landed in Massachusetts they signed the Mayflower Compact. This document was a set of laws for them to follow. William Bradford wrote "Of Plymouth Plantation" as a historical document.

Carolina
King Charles the II granted eight lords to settle in the Carolina's. In 1660, there were 1,000 colonies living in Carolina's. In 1712, the Carolina's was split into two colony's. North Carolina and South Carolina.

Bacon's Rebellion
Bacon's Rebellion was an up raising against The House of Burgesses. A man named Nathaniel Bacon was a small farmer. He tried to attend the House of Burgesses but, was arrested. So Bacon formed a small army and attacked Jamestown. The Governors fled for their lives but came back with their own army and Bacon and his army fled. The House of Burgesses called Bacon a rebel. Bacon died shortly after.

Pennsylvania
The founder of Pennsylvania was William Penn. It was a safe place for Quakers. Philadelphia, the capital was the first place of the Continental Congresses. The place where they signed the Declaration of Independence. After the Revolutionary war Pennsylvania was the second state formed.

Great Awakening/ Enlightenment
The Great Awakening was a religions movement. Leaders in the church would go from town to town preaching. Jonathan Edwards had a great influence at this time. He wrote "Sinners in the Hands of an Angry God." Enlightenment was an age of Science.
