Events Heading to the American Revolution
The events leading to the American Revolution is about how the king of Britain angered the colonists with taxes and how the colonists fought aginst the taxes. -
French and Indian War
The French and Indian war was when the French and Indians joined together to fight against the British and the colonists. The war was caused by the fighting over land between the French and the British. The war caused great debt to the British. King George III taxed the colonists to pay off the debt. After the war they determined that the British had won. -
The Proclamation
The Proclamation was when the colonists wanted to travel west of the Appalachian Mountains, but King George III wouldn’t let them because it would cost money to protect them from the Indians. The King did not want another war. The colonists did not want to follow the Kings demands. -
Quartering Act
The Quartering Act was about how the king made the colonists house the british soldiers.The colonists did not like this.they did not want them in there home,they did not like how they had to feed and give them warmth.some of the colonists had to live on the streets because of this. -

The Stamp Act is when the king of Britain decided to tax the colonists on all paper.This tax was the very first tax.The colonists thought the king had no right to tax them. Some of the colonists tared and featherd the tax colecters when they came for the taxes for a punishment. -

The Boston Tea Party was when the king made a tax on tea and made sure that the colonists could only buy from one company.This made the colonists even more mad. So one night a group of colonists snuck on a british ship dressed up as indians and dumped all the tea in the boston harber. -

The First Continental Congress is when 12 colonies (not incuding Georga) got together and talked about how to settle problems with the British.This was the first time the colonists worked together.
