This alliance was between Germany, Austria-Hungary, and Italy. It was established sometime in May during 1882. It satted that if for any reason France was to attack any of them, the others would go to its aid. -

It was an alliance between France, Britian, and Russia. It was an estansion of the former entente called the Anglo- Russian entente. It was finallized some times during 1907. -
Austria-Hungary Takes Control of Bosnia
Bosnia was part of the Ottomon empire which was mostly made up of slavic countires. Austria- hungary's annexation was their way of assuring that they stayed in power. -
Archduke Franz Ferdinand is Assassinated in Sarajevo
The Archduke Franz Ferdinand, heir to the throne of Austria-Hungary, was assassinated by a member of the Black Hand, It was a Serbian terror group, while he was visiting Bosnia. -
Austria-Hungary Declares War on Serbia
Austria-Hungary gives an ultimatum to Serbia as a way to avoid war, because of the assassination of the Archduke Franz Ferdinand. Serbia was willing to fulfill most of the demands but not all of them and so in return Austria-Hungary declares war on them. -
Germany Invaded Belgium
The invasion lead to the enrollment of Britain in the war, because of a treaty between Britain and Belgium that stated that if Belgium was ever under attack Britain would come to their aid. -
A German U-Boat Sinks the Lusitania
The Lusitania was a British ship that was traveling from Liverpool, to New York. Traveling bhy ships during since the begoinning of the war was not recommended and so in this case they were advised to travel at full speed and in a zig zag fashion. The captian of the Lusitania decided to go at a low speed because of the fog that had settled and this caused them to be spotted by a German submarine. The submarine shot a turpido and destroyes the ship and killed the passangers. -
The First Battle of the Somme Begins
It took place in the outsides of the French river Somme. Its one of the most important battles of the war because many countries supported the French and British and their attack agaisnt Germany. It was also one of the blodiest battles with it having a million casualtie. -
The Zimmerman Note is Discovered
During January of 1917 the Zimmerman note was discovered by British intellengence. It was a dimoplatic preposal from Germany to Mexico in hopes that they would attack the United Sates. It was one of the many factors that lead the US to the desition to join the war against Germany. -
The United States Declares War on Germany
The United States had stablished neutrality in the beginning of the War. It joined the war after it was have way over because Germany began to have unrestricted submarine warfare, which threatened America's commercial shipping.
