Rhode Island
Roger Williams and Anne Hutchinson were banished from the Massachusetts Bay Colony. Williams founds Providence and Hutchinson settled in Portsmouth. Two other settlements were formed. All four settlements received a charter from England and created their own government called Rhode Island. -

Independence Day
