French and Indian War
The French and Indian War took place in 1754-1763. This war was on for a long time which made the british go into debt and started taxing the colonies. -
Proclamation of 1763
The Proclamation of 1763 was when the parliament passed the law that the colonists couldn't move west pass the appalachian mountains. This way the Indians couldn't attack the colonists after loosing the French and Indian war. -
Stamp Act of 1765
The Stamp Act of 1765 was when the British started to tax the colonists. This act was the 1st tax from Britian and lead the colonists to think that they could only be taxed by THEIR OWN government. -
Quartering Act of 1765
The Quartering Act was when the colonists were forced to house British soldiers. -
Boston Massacre of 1770
The Boston Massacre of 1770 was a riot that broke out and the British soldiers had to come to stop the fight which lead to the massacre. This event made the king pay attention to the colonists and allowed the Sons of Liberty to bend public opinion even if they had to color the truth. -
Boston Tea Party of 1773
The Boston Tea Party of 1773 was when angry colonists { about the taxed tea} dressed up as indians and dumped many boxes of tea off of ships to show how angry they were about the taxed tea. { as I said earlier.} -
1st Continental Congress of 1774
The 1st Continental Congress of 1774 was when all the colonies leaders met to talk face to face about the British. Before this event the leaders wrote a petition to the king. The 2nd time the leaders met was after the king ignored the petition.
