Magna Carta

Second Continenttal Congress
Was a convention of delegates from the Thirteen Colonies. They met in Philadelphia. -
Declaration of Independence
This document declared independence from Britain. There are 56 signatures on it. -
Articles of Confederation
Was the first constitution of the United States. Ratification of the Articles of Confederation by all 13 states didn't happen until 1781. -
Shay's Rebellion
Was an armed uprisg in Massachusetts. Was led by Shay. -
Virginia Plan
Was drafted by James Madison. He presented it at the constitutional convention. -
Philadelphia Convention
Is also known as the Constintutional convention. Delegates from 12 states were there. -
New Jersey Plan
Was presented by William Paterson. It was presented at the constitutional convention in 1787.
