Prohibition began at the very beginning of the 1920's making it illegal to buy or produce alcohol, but people who owned alcohol could still consume it leading to some wine companies to make wine bricks to make their own alcohol at home, With the age of Prohibition came organized crime chain for the disputation and production of illegal alcohol. -

Consumerism during this time was about the fact Americans had good pay jobs with extra money to spend. So the idea was that you would use that money to buy a companies product this would continue up until the stock market crash. -
Women get the Right to Vote
During the beginning of the decade, women got the right to vote, With that came more political freedom for them. so after that came the lifestyle of the flappers who celebrated the turn of the decad with them being able to vote. -
Flappers
Women were becoming less of the stereotype they were of the past becoming more flamboyant often being shown drinking alcohol. With shorter hairstyles and shorter dresses, they were overall less accepted by society at this time. -
The RIse of Organized Crime
The RIse of Organized Crime was due to prohibition it making many men rich during the time. One man who became especially famous was Al Capone who was making about 85 million a year due to Americans still exsistant alcohol addiction. -
The Stock Market Crash
The Stock Market Crash happened when stocks started to go down and everyone pulled out, crashing the stock market. This led to the great depression that we would be in until WWII. -
The Effect of the Great Depression
The Effect of the Great Depression was Low employment rates, People with little to no money, and etc... Also, this cased farmers to have no need for the soil so it would dry up and cart dust storms and Banks closed during this time due to over withdrawal -
FDR Is Elected
FDR Is Elected at this time and vowed to get this country back on its feet. He would severe up intel 1945 where he did get the economy back up with WWII before he died in office. -
