    Roanoke Colony founded

    Gilbert, a well known solider, recieved a charter from queen Elizabeth to create a colony in the America. They attempted to do so twice but failed. They had died at sea. But Gilbert's half brother Raleigh persuaded The queen to renew Gilberts charter. She agreed and he soon landed on an island called ''Roanoke'' which the natives called it.

    A young minister arrived in Boston. The Boston Congregation offered him a teaching position. He refused. But in 1633, he returned to Massachusetts where continued to challenge Purtian authority. He was then ordered to leave in Oct, 1635 . He then purchased land from Narragansett people annd founded a town of Providence.

    Lord Baltimore found a colony where catholics could practice thier religion. He was then granted land from the king and named it Maryland.

  • King Philip War Begings

    For about 40 years after the Pequot War, The New England settlers and Nativbes had good relationship. By trading with one another that also created peace. But in 1670's the fur trade declined, colonial government began to demand that Natives follw their laws and customs. This angered the Natives, they thought they were trying to destory thier way of life. Tension arosed when when 3 Natives were killed which started the Native War.
  • Bacon's Rebellion

    A wealthy land owned named Nathaniel Bacon started a rebellion after his land was raided and destroyed by indians. His over seer was killed in the process. He then made an army of 400-500 men to kill all indians. Berkeley did not grant this, but bacon went ahead with it anyway.
