    Eucharist
    Jesus invited all the disciplines for a meal known as the last supper. Jesus took bread prayed and broke it saying this is my body given up for you. Jesus then took wine prayed and said this is my blood poured out for you. This was Jesus last supper with his disciples one of which how betrayed him. Jesus spoke to his disciples and told them to spread his message. He was then taken away by solders were he was hang on the cross and killed.

    God asked the Israelites to sacrifice a lamb, and sprinkle its blood on their doorposts. That night the angel of death struck down the first born of the families of Egypt, the Hebrew families were spared due to the sacrifice. They gathered with Moses to begin the long journey to freedom. They had clothes for the journey and carried bread and the lamb they had sacrificed.

    The first church celebrated Jesus by drinking wine and breaking bread in honor of Jesus life. They gathered together and drunk Jesus blood and ate his body to honor him.

    The romans had a large halls in which the prayed in and the catholic decided to build there own. Once it was build to was grand and many Catholics gathered to pray and eat the bread and drink the wine together.

    As the catholic church gained popularity and became very rich and powerful during the middle ages and many people became fearful of receiving the bread and wine. Catholics then wouldn't allow children over 14 receive commune. many people only started having the bread and wine once a year or on the day that they repented their sins.
  • Changing of the eucharist

    The church underwent many changes involving eucharist such as introducing scripter readerings before the eucharist to give it context and meaning and so that it could be related back to the bible. It also introduced church services to be in multiply languages across the world not just Latin. The church met in the Vatican to discuss this and put it into place.
  • The eucharist today

    The eucharist today is a way of remembering Jesus and his messages and become apart of Jesus in a way. It consolidates Catholics faith in Jesus and brings them closer. The eucharist is usually done mid way though the church service and after the priest reads a bible passage to make the eucharist relevant to Jesus message. Catholics line up and take the bread and wine saying a pray. In year 4 there is a service where children's can then take the eucharist.
