A study where a scientist would pretend to be a homosexual inn order to gather information about them. Laud Humphrey observed their behavior and concluded that they are just the average person. These tearooms were public places as were the observations. -

Laud Humphrey went undercover as a member of the homosexual community in order to observe the behaviors of the community in public places such as, tearooms, bath houses, and bathrooms. Humphery was able to dive deep into a closeted world and reveal that the homosexual community also lived regular everyday lives. Humphrey was criticized for the lack of consent from his subjects nor revealing to the community that he was a researcher and deceiving them. -
Zimbardo Prison Experiment
A study of 24 male Stanford students. They participated in a 6 day experiment. They experienced the full process of being under arrest. This included: being under custody, strip searching, and being assigned to prison cells with three other people. This study was designed to force reasonable people to commit to unreasonable actions or choices.
