    England's New Queen
    During the rule of King Henry VIII, Queen Elizabeth’s father, there was a seperation from the Roman Catholic Church, which launched the English Protestant Reformation. For years there was unbalnce on the official religion of England. Until Queen Elizabeth took the throne, and officially decided that Protestantism was the officail religion, as well as to encourage England to bring down Spain, the most power ful nation.

    Sir Francis Drake Circumnavigates the Gle
    Sir Francis Drake as the first english man who circumnavigated the globe. Prior to his expedition the only nation who had accomplished this was the Spainards, who were the English rivals. During this navigation, the Spainards were attacked and alot of their 'property' was stolen. This was a big deal, because it gave the English hope that the Spainards could be defeated and they could be the powerful nation.

    Becoming Powerful Nation
    Due to relgion conflict there was always tension between Spain and England. Since the Spainards, were against the Protestant Reformation, Philip II organized an Armada thought to be invincible. The plan was to invade England, but the English fought back using a tactic that was much more easier manuverable and also had help of a strom called the Protestant Wind. This defeat marked the end of the Spanish imperial dreams and ensured dominance for England

    There was a time where England hit economic depression, so their solution was to establish a colony in the New World. King James I sponsers the "Virginia Company of London" to go and establish a settlement in new world, which became the first sucessful settlement England establish and it was called Jamestown

    After the succesful establishment of Jamestown, more and more people began to arrive from England. The problem was that in the New World there were already Natives, who had established their homes. Sharing the land caused tension between the Natives and the English causing the First and Second Anglo-Powhatan war. The Natives both times made an effort to push these newcomers out, but were defeated noth times
  • Taking over the Land

    Taking over the Land
    English considered themseves owners of this New World. They did as they pleased. Little by little the Natives were less and less. English found ways such as harvesting tobacco and sugar as a way to improve economy. Harvesting these crops took hard work, which they didn't desire to do. Their solution was to capture people from Africa and making them slaves. When they had slaves the English decided to pass a law denieng these slaves any fundmental rights.
