Ernst Mach Education and Teaching
Ernst Mach majored in physics at the University of Vienna from 1855 to 1861. He taught from 1864 until 1867. He remained in a Chair at Prague until 1895, and then held a Chair in the History and Philosophy of the Inductive Sciences at Vienna until 1901 after suffering from a stroke 3 years prior to his retirement. Doppler Theory Contributions
Mach gave significant contributions to Christian Doppler's "Doppler theory". The Doppler Theory concluded that the frequency of sound changes based on the movement to and from the intended recipient.
