  • Trust vs. Mistrust

Dimitri develops a mistrustful view of the world when his family becomes displaced due to a nuclear disaster near his hometown and his parents struggle to provide for themselves let alone give attention to their child. Trust vs Mistrust stage happens in the first year of life when a newborn is completely dependent on others for its sustenance and support. If it receives support, then it develops a trusting view of the world. If it does not, then it becomes mistrustful of that world.
  • Initiative vs Guilt

At age 6 Dimitri develops a very initiative based personality due to the freedom provided by his parents' constant preoccupation with work. He is often found going out and gathering other kids around the neighborhood to play with. This stage is a competition between being outgoing and seeking to explore and influence the world around a child through play and adventure. Or being fearful and reclusive of the world and avoiding initiative and exploration.
  • Identity vs. Confusion

At age 16 Dimitri had apprenticed under his father at an automotive industry but finding the work monotonous had left. Seeking a more fulfilling occupation at 18 Dimitri starts a job as a police man and falls in love with the work. This stage (Ages 12-20) sees young people either create a comfortable identity for themselves or failing to do so and becoming disoriented and lost without a clear personality to center their lives upon.
