Creation of FWPCA and the first air pollution conference.
During this time, the FWPCA was created, the Federal Water Pollution Control Act, which helped the government get more authority over water pollution control. The Nature Conservancy is established in Washington. Today and throughout the decades, The Nature Conservancy has protected over 119 million acres of land and 5,000 miles of rivers worldwide. It has over 1 million members, and it operates more than 100 marine conservation projects. The Clean Air Act
The Clean Air Act is put in place after the Air Pollution Control Act in 1955, as a new way of taking control of the air pollution. Through the Clean Air Act, the federal government finally gets more control of the air pollution that they didn't have before.
