English Timeline

  • Bear Books

    Bear Books
When I was 5, my dad got me and my sister the Bear Books. It was a series of books about a bear and his animal friends, and their silly adventures. Some of the titles included "Bear Says Thanks" and "Bear's loose tooth". My dad would read them to us almost every night.
  • Nancy Drew

    Nancy Drew
Growing up, my sister and I loved mysteries. Although the Nancy Drew books were hard for us to read, my stepmom would sit with us on the couch and read them to us.
  • The Kicks

    The Kicks
Soccer has always had a huge role in my life. When one of my favorite players, Alex Morgan, wrote a book series for young soccer-loving girls, I had to read it.
  • Percy Jackson

    Percy Jackson
For my 10th birthday, I received the complete set of Percy Jackson books. These books were the ones that mostly greatly impacted my life; I read them over and over again. Rick Riordan is still one of my favorite authors :)
  • Heroes Of Olympus

    Heroes Of Olympus
More Rick Riordan novels... it was a very long phase. I never put the books down, and I remember curling up in my covers (long past my bed time) with a flashlight reading them.
  • These Shallow Graves

    These Shallow Graves
For my birthday this last year, I got a Barnes and Nobles giftcard. I bought a book called "These Shallow Graves". It is my favorite book, and I keep it beside my bed for when I need to unwind.
  • Hunger Games

    Hunger Games
Like Rick Riordan's books, the Hunger Games had a huge impact on me. I have read the books all the way through 11 times (and counting).
  • Black Hawk Down

    Black Hawk Down
The most recent book that I have read is Black Hawk Down. Although it was a school assignment, I really enjoyed reading it and I liked the reality of warfare that it displayed.
