    Queen Elizabeth the first started the East India Company in the 17th century to develop trade between Britain and India. Britain had control over India. India back then was called The British Raj. English was the first language used for trading. Because of this, most people in India learned English. Now, English is the main language in Indian internet. More and more people come to the internet every day in India and because of this they learn English more.

    The slave trade began in the 17th century and one part of the slave trade was called The Triangle Trade. It was called this because they used a loop. First, they bought slaves in Africa using things manufactured in Britain. Then they shipped the Slaves to the Americas where they made sugar, tobacco and cotton where they later sold that to the other superpowers of Europe.

    In 1788 the first fleet of British people came to Britain. Most of these people were criminals who were deserted. Because it was mostly wastelands here it was a fitting prison. Later they set up colonies there and enslaved the indigenous people there called the aborigines.
