Hero

English Hero Project

  • Hero is chosen.

    Hero is chosen.
Today I chose my hero, it was back and forth between Andy Warhol and Mr. Alter Wiener but I opted for himn instead. I remeber, that a Holocaust surviver came to my Junior High one year and spoke to us, i was transfixed. I've always been facinated by the Holocaust and hopefully this will be a new way to learn more about it.
  • Book and artibles are chosen.

    Book and artibles are chosen.
Today I found two great articles about Alter Wiener along with his autobiography about his life and how it was so hugely impacted by WWII.
  • Post One Rough-Draft

    Post One Rough-Draft
Today I wrote the rough-draft for my first post on Posterous.com. I'd like to say that its going good, it definitely still needs tweeking but I think I'm on a good track.
  • Book on the way

    Book on the way
I went to Barnes and Noble today to look for my book, From a Name to a Number, only to find that they did not have it in stock. I placed an order for the book but told that it might be 7 work days before i got it. I can't wait that long! I am so excited to read this book. I am considering buying it on my Nook and enduring the annoyance of electronic annotations.
  • I cracked...

    I cracked...
I ended up purchasing the book on my Nook account, and I am so glad that I did! It's been ambolutely amazing! Alter Wiener has had to loose so much in such a short span of time in his life. I love reading these books, they give me such a better sense of how everything was like for them.
  • Its getting really good...

    Its getting really good...
The book is getting even better than I thought, I've read some reviews where the reader couldn't get past the first few chapters because they found it to be so boring but I cant put the book down! My other subjects will start to suffer if the weekend doesnt come soon so i can transform into the true bookworm that i am.
  • Still reading...

    Still reading...
I've talked to some pople about the project and find that almost everyone that I have talked to really likes their topic. I guess I am not the only one who took the opportunity to do something they really love!
  • Post Two Rought Draft

    Post Two Rought Draft
Ive continued reading but now I'm starting to worry with the upcomming deadline for my second post to Posterous.com. It will be a couple of paragraphs talking about heors in literature and I chose The Book Thief by Markus Zusak because of the obvious reason that it is also about the Holocaust! I absolutely loved this book, so I am somewhat looking forward to this paper.
  • Still Working...

    Still Working...
Ive almost finished wrapping up my second post. Hopefully it will turn out okay. I still havent decided if i will do a video or type it out.
  • My Interview!

Today I interviewed a wonderfull woman who works at the Holocaust Museum here in Houston. She took time out of her day to talk t me and told me alot about her job and about the survivors that live here in Houston! we have over 100 registered survivors!
