Lennie was talking about how George wouldn't leave him, and how he would always be there for him. George agreed, while he was hesitating to tell a story that Lennie was leading him through. Lennie was explaing how George and him were like family, and there is nobody else like them because they are always there for each other. George was hesitating to finsih Lennie's words, and George shot Lennie in the back of the head
