    Magna Carta

    Magna Carta
    Magna Carta was written by a group barons that confronted King John and commanded him to avert civil war. These barons wrote the Magna Carta to protect their rights and property against a tyrannical king. This was cause because King John had sold England to the Pope.
  • Oliver Cromwell

    Oliver Cromwell
    Was the general of parlaments army "Lord Protector" of England, Ireland, and Scotland. He was also a well know political leader of England.
  • Charles I

    Charles I
    Son of king James I. Chalres had dissagreements with the parliament which started the English Civil War, this lead to his Exicution in 1649.
  • Petition of Rights

    This Petition was set forth by king Charles I. the petition of rights stated four principles-No taxed would be given with out the consent of the parliament; no imprisonment without a shown cause; soldiers cannot be put in private houses; and martial law cannot be used in times of peace. These rights were soon broken by kings Charles who had agreed to them.

    King of England, Scottland, and Ireland from January 30 1649- May 29 1660. he dispenced with the parliament and ruling alone after being driven out of Ruling of Scottland by Oliver Cromwell.
  • English Civil War

    This was a fight between the king and the parliament. At the end of the war Charles I was publically killed for causing this war and making other decisions that were not supported by other people,
  • James II

    James II
    Called Duke of York and Duke of Albany. He was the last Stuart monarch in the direct male line. New Amsterdam was seized from the Dutch in 1664 and renamed New York in James II's Honor.
  • English Restoration

    charles III met with General George Monck who arranged to restore Charles in return for amnesty and religouse toleration for his former enemies.
