Using only graphite and tape, two scientists Andre Geim and Konstantin Novoselov. They both received Nobel prizes for taping thin sheets of graphite form a chunk and transferring the tape onto a silicon wafer. The isolation of graphene is revolutionary due to it being the lightest material known, 200 times stronger that steel, and the best conductor of heat and electricity.

In Japan, the ATR Computational Neuroscience Laboratory has analyzed cerebral blood flow changes in the brain to reconstruct images on a computer monitor. They use what they call a functional magnetic resonance imaging machine (fMRI) to map out blood flow changes and use a computer to covert the data into images.

Since then, on 26 April 2011, the same collaboration has trapped 300 some anti-hydrogen atoms for as long as 1000 seconds. Some of the theoretical uses include: Weapons propulsion/fuel, and even medical.
