The Cosmic Cycle of Love and Strife

Empodocles was a Pre-Socratic Greek philosopher who was best known for his cosmogenic theory of the universe. This theory describes the idea that the universe was created by four elements: fire, air, earth, and water. These elements are mixed together into different combinations and proportions. This mixing of elements is influenced by two cosmic forces, Love and Strife, that are always in opposition to each other and battling for domination of the universe.
