    Education Education in the early 19th century was MOSTLY for the the upper middle class and the elite. Between 1870 and 1914 most western govs. set up state financed schools, where both boys and and girls between the ages of six and twelve were required to go to school. They also had teacher training schools to train teachers, who were usually young woman. the reasons for this were politics and industrialization. This in effect increased literacy.

    Hitler Adolf Hitler was a German dictator from 1933 to 1945. After World War I in 1919, he joined the German Workers’ Party which he later renamed it the National Socialist German Workers’ Party (Nazi for short). Hitler killing innocent people did not make this much better.

This was the official end to World War I. Little did those signing the treaty know that another world war would occur not to far later.

During this time. goods were now easily and readily shipped across the atlantic. Rockefeller, carnegie were big people during this time, known for oil and railroads.

    Women's Rights It took until the end of world war one to make most male dominated governments give in to women's rights even though the movement actually began in the 1830’s. By the end of world war one, more woman were working, no matter what the job be. In fact Women were given the right to vote in 1920, around a year after world war one ended.

During the nineteenth century, landed aristocrats had joined with the most successful industrialists, bankers, and merchants to form the new elite. Members of the elite became leaders in the government and military. Below the upper middle class, was a middle class that consisted of lawyers, doctors, etc. Below that is the working class, made up almost 80% of Europeon population.

Stalin was a strict dictator that majorly changed the society of the Soviet Union as well as the rest of the world. Like Hitler, Stalin was one of the greatest mass murderers in history after World War I. Stalin was also a huge player in the Russian Revolution.

    Five Year Plan In 1928, Stalin proposes the First Five-Year Plan. This set economic goals for five-year periods. The purpose of these plans was to transform Russia from agricultural to industrial. This plan emphasized maximum production of capital goods, like heavy machinery. This plan eventually quadrupled heavy machinery production and doubled oil production, thus making this plan seem idea for Russia. But Stalin’s plan soon began to kill many people.

Millions of americans were out of work and homeless, Hitler Would later on blame the Jewish people for the depression as propaganda to give german citizens a reason to dislike them. Franklinin Roosevelt it also president during this time. He would serve 3 terms and would be president until mid world war two, where Truman would take over.

The Nazi’s did not become as well known until the Great Depression hit the world. Nazism promised economic help, political power, and national glory. eventually it became a large movement. On January 30, 1933 Hitler became chancellor, the head of the state.
